First raised bed. No weed barrier, filled bottom with small sticks then filled with this “soil” which includes mostly wood.

Seedlings planted outside of raised bed are thriving, inside bed very pale and dying.

I read about the wood chips/nitrogen issue. For an inexpensive fix for this season what would you do? I realize I need to overall let this “soil” sit a couple years until it breaks down, but hate to lose the growing space of the raised bed (space is tight). Thank you for any ideas.
