Can I use any shredded plant material as mulch?

Yeah this is probably stupid question but I’ve only ever used shredded leaves and pine bark as mulch but I just shredded a rather large wild grape, some large sunflower stems and a lot of blackberry vines and I was wondering can I use this as mulch for my fruit trees?
