I didn’t plant her, I didn’t prune her. She’s clearly (much) older than I am. But whoever put the time and effort into pruning this rhododendron into an actual, legitimate tree is my spirit animal. She’s serving Liberace. She’s serving costume jewelry. She’s serving the kind of subtlety you can see from actual space. I inherited her when I bought the house and I’m going to spend the time I’m here treating her like the grand old lady she is.
